The House
Every language has a word for white.
Ours is Safid.

The name
Safid, سفید, is the Persian word for white. Not white as absence, but white as the Persian poets meant it: the colour of dawn before the city wakes, of jasmine, of pilgrim cloth, of a page holding its breath before the first word. We took the name because it holds everything we intend to make.
The conviction
Modest fashion has been treated as a market for long enough. We treat it as a discipline. A gown that covers completely must work harder than one that does not: the line, the drape and the movement carry everything. That constraint is not our limitation. It is our luxury.
The woman
Safid is designed first for Muslim women, because they have waited longest for luxury that meets them where they stand. And like all things made with care, it belongs to anyone who recognises herself in it. Grace has never checked credentials at the door.
The place
We are based in Brisbane, Australia, a subtropical city of verandahs and long white mornings. It is not a traditional fashion capital, which suits us. Houses that begin away from the noise learn to listen to their own eye.
“We are not making white dresses. We are making a place where a woman’s faith and her taste no longer have to take turns.”
